Join us Thursday August 28 from 7:00 - 8:30pm, at the Farrow and Ball Showroom in SoHo (112 Mercer St), as we celebrate the selection of our organization’s new directors and kick off a fall season of volunteer opportunities.
At this meetup we will be outlining four projects for which we are seeking volunteers -- 119th Street Gatehouse, Green Indoor Plaza, Highbridge and Red Hook Vendors. In addition, we are looking for volunteers to help with a new short-term project: Park(ing) Day.
If you are interested in volunteering for a project this fall, or if you’d just like to hear more about AFHny’s work within the five boroughs of New York, please join us on the 28th for drinks and conversation.
AFHny would like to thank Farrow & Ball for hosting this event and Little Miss Cupcake for their contribution of cupcakes for the evening.
Architecture for Humanity New York has been very busy over the past few years. We've recently completed work on a clinic in Morningside Heights for Care for the Homeless. We are continuing our work at The Point and at High Bridge Park. And we are starting new projects, including work with the Red Hook vendors, and a new health clinic at Washington Irving High School with the Institute for Urban Family Health.
We have also redesigned our organizational structure, expanding our leadership to nine directors, to keep our projects running smoothly, ensure that we continue to offer challenging and exciting opportunities to our volunteers, and deliver excellent work to our clients and partner organizations.
